Yes today is World Beard Day!

Now I know that many people will question or joke about this matter and moan about it being a fashion craze and blah blah blah!

However beards are not just a fashion statement and many guys are bearded for life and I don’t care who you are, you have to agree that many guys look damn good with a beard. I have also gotten to know some damn good guys because I have a beard and there is a real sense of community.

Celebrating World Beard Day

There are many ways to celebrate, the easiest has to be to just groom that beard and get a photo on social media showing how proud you are to be bearded.

Get together with your bearded mates and have a drink or ten and show people once again that bearded guys aren’t all hipsters or tramps.

However the best celebration has to be the World Beard and Moustache Championships that is currently taking place in Austin Texas. Steve and Lee are currently out there representing the British and what a damn fine representation they are! Next year the championships will take place in Belgium so there will be more of you hopefully attending.

You could also head over to Facebook and join the ‘Guardians of the Beard’ group, post a photo and say hi and benefit from an amazing bunch of guys who have a chat, a laugh and even though I do say so myself, they are genuinely damn good guys who look out for each other.

Of course it won’t be long (2 months) before the Movember and No Shave November campaigns start and all the part time beards appear accompanied by the hashtag #beardgang. I personally think this surge in bearded men is a good thing, yes they are only doing it for a short amount of time but without a doubt there will be some who just can’t bring themselves to shave again.
