The Bearded Gent Balm is a blend of

  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Mango Butter
  • Shea Butter
  • Beeswax

The result is not what I personally like, it is a rather greasy consistency and seems to be very lacking in the butter and wax departments or that is how it feels.

I did wonder if the balm had been affected by the 30°c plus temperatures we have been having. although other balms in the drawer are okay and so I put it in the fridge overnight.

But that just resulted in a slightly more set greasy balm!

Now I realise that beard balms come in a wide range of consistencies, made from a wide range of ingredients but it is strange because The Bearded Gent say this;

REAL MANGO BUTTER INCLUDED: Something no other beard balm includes, which we will never understand, because of the amazing benefits!

First I find it odd that this has been added and yet the balm doesn’t have that buttery like consistency and so they can’t have used the Mango Butter in a decent ratio but also I had a very quick search through my reviews and found quite a few balms from other brands that use Mango Butter.

I would almost describe this balm as Vaseline like!

The Rhubarb and Custard scent is a scent explosion, it is spot on for the scent of one of my favourite childhood sweet but I find it a little too powerful and of course being a fragrance oil, it lasts.

So I am afraid this is not a very positive review from this old boy at only 25/100!

The Bearded Gent Balms are also available in;

  • Tobacco Leaf & Musk
  • Bergamot & Orange
  • Cherry Bakewell
  • Sandalwood
  • Mint & Tea Tree
  • Chocolate Orange

The 60ml balm in a glass jar with a metal screw lid currently costs £10.99 at and they also sell Beard oils, beard jelly, wash and conditioners as well as gift sets and combs etc.
