I don’t understand why we suddenly have people in clown masks lurking about, the first stories I heard were from America and my daughter was horrified, it’s time to Stop clowning about!

Now it appears that some half minded fools over here have decided to copy this behaviour.

I normally post a photo with all my blog posts but I refuse to post a clown photo, there are people who genuinely have a fear of clowns and terrorising them is somehow funny. A guy I know has said that his daughter is scared to go out because of it and after reports in our local paper, my youngest daughter who is 22 has turned down an offer from her sister to go into town!

Our local paper has now reported that people wearing these masks have been seen outside the college, in the town centre and around several neighbouring areas. It’s now getting darker earlier and soon the clocks will go back and so this will only become more problematic. Of course there are always people who don’t mind earning money from anything and so these masks will be on sale for a few quid.

Now I’m sure that this must fall foul of some law, these people should be charged and fined for this incredibly insensitive behaviour. I have heard that people are now out looking for the idiots wearing the masks and I expect that we will be made or tried to feel sorry for them when they have received a beating.

This is when our police force should step up, get the message out that this type of behaviour is not acceptable and that if you are caught doing it, well you will most likely end up with a criminal record.

Apparently a couple who were chased by someone wearing one of these clown masks and we’re not talking a happy looking circus clown, these are masks that are designed to look as terrifying as possible. The person wearing the mask and chasing these people was a 17 year old girl. So if they had turned round and defended themselves, would they be charged? Because as far as I’m concerned, it’s self defense!

So parents, before your teenage child goes out, before they meet their friends, have a check to see if they have a mask on them. Let them know that this is wrong and let them know that they are actually putting themselves in danger because people aren’t finding this funny.

Personally I don’t understand the fear of clowns that is quite common nowadays, however it’s is a fear and so people shouldn’t feel like they have to avoid going out because of it. Although I expect that with Halloween coming up this is only going to get worse unless it is made illegal to walk around our streets in a mask of any kind that is designed to terrify people.

I often see petitions for this that and the other doing the rounds on social media to make our government take notice and I think that this needs to be brought to the attention of our law makers.

Someone is going to get hurt eventually!

  1. Well said! This IS nuts!!! These idiots are going to get shot over here (in the US). This is not funny and it seems to be the young kids doing it. How sad it will be to have a grave stone that reads, died too early… of STUPIDITY while dressed as an assclown! And yes, it will end up as a law (another right taken from us) that you are no longer able to wear a mask. Is that a law I will care about; in one way…no! Who cares about wearing masks and if it stops idiots and senseless crimes so be it; on the other hand, yes! A law that restricts our rights to wear what we want is a law taking a right away and that just snowballs into stupid stuff like being able to wave 1 flag vs another. What we need are stronger laws for idiots who break them! Stalking, chasing, terrifying someone is a crime…dressed as a clown or not.
