No parent should ever have to lose a child, it must be one of the most awful thing to have to go through and whilst I am extremely sympathetic, this article on BBC News made my blood boil!

Samantha Cameron: Son’s death ‘overshadows everything’

Ivan Cameron, who had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, died in hospital aged six in February 2009 and David and Samantha Cameron received non means tested benefits in the form of Direct Payments towards Ivan’s care package.  The Cameron’s also applied for DLA for Ivan despite having an inheritance that meant this toff wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but had the whole damn cutlery set rammed in there!

Samantha Cameron said when talking about the death of their son Ivan that it changed her husband’s outlook. “I think it changed Dave’s politics. It made him understanding, though he couldn’t be too subjective.”

I’m sorry but what complete and utter bollocks, how can a man who raised and cared for a disabled child and who also claimed Disability Allowance for that child, be understanding when he then went on to scrap the disability benefit and cause misery to so many disabled people?

I wrote a post yesterday about Motability vehicles taken away from disabled and this is a knock on effect from that callous and cold act.

David Cameron used his time as Prime Minister to make the lives of disabled people even more difficult. I find it hard to see a photo of this pratt without getting angry. With his band of posh boys he applauded our paralympians at 2012 games in London and then behind their backs he took away their independence by scrapping DLA just because he wouldn’t get away with making changes to it. This was done with a smile and claiming it was for us!

Of course the scrapping of Disability Living Allowance wasn’t his only slap to the disabled and people with chronic illness. The ESA benefit assessments caused misery and even death to many people and they also closed the Independent Living Fund that enabled disabled people to live independently by using the money for day and night care.

So I am not happy when I hear Samantha Cameron spouting nonsense like this, your husband ‘Dave’ is about as understanding as a kick up the arse and if I could walk, it would be the very least I would like to do to him!
