When I grew my hair back after many years of keeping it at grade one, I found myself unwilling to use the mass produced high street styling products.

Yes the small batch beard care products had made me think about the ingredients in the products I use and so I contacted some of the beard care brands that I have reviewed for as quite a few make hair care products.

First up was Rugged Nature and they sent me a wax and a clay.

The wax has a Cedarwood scent that is subtle and woodsy and I really like it. They have kept the scent simple and it would pair very well with many of the beard care products I use.

It is a blend of

  • Shea Butter
  • Beeswax
  • Apricot Kernel Oil
  • Corn Starch
  • Cedarwood Essential Oil
Rugged Nature Cedarwood Hair Wax

And the result is a pale wax that is very and I mean very, solid!

I have had to resort to using the end of my metal comb to scrape some out and a plectrum would be ideal. You don’t need a lot, in fact it was a piece smaller than my thumb nail.

Work it in your palms and then work it right into your hair, making sure you take time to make sure it is all the way through and then style.

At this point I am just keeping my hair combed back as I haven’t decided if I will give a style and it kept my hair in place, it didn’t feel greasy or sticky and gave it a nice slight sheen.

Job done!

So if you are using mass produced hair care products, I urge you to look at the products that are small batch.

This is 90g of wax and at this rate it should last a very long time and it is priced at only £8.99 and you can even get it from Amazon on Prime with free One Day delivery!

Plus it is in a screw top tin, with paper labels and so eco friendly!

What more do you want?
