We have just got the Pulse Oximeter from PRCMISEMED from Amazon.

This is a piece of kit that we would only previously see when we were in hospital, it sits on your finger and gives a reading of the
hemoglobin saturation (oxygen in blood) in your blood and also your pulse rate.

So why would you need one at home?

Well it is a handy piece of kit and priced at just £11.99 it is not expensive and if you or your family have a health conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Bronchitis or Coronary problems, well its almost vital.

For instance, you or your child is asthmatic and feeling breathless, yes you can do the peak flow but that only tells you volume of air and the
hemoglobin saturation in your blood.

So it may give an indication of wether or not to seek help from a GP or go to A&E. There are times when someone with asthma may feel slightly breathless or think their child is struggling and with this easy to use piece of kit you can tell in seconds.

It takes 2 x AAA batteries and you are ready to go, just place it on a finger, press the button and seconds later you have a reading of saturated oxygen and pulse rate.

A press of the button flips the read out so you can read it whilst using yourself or whilst sat in front of someone getting their reading.

After six seconds of taking it off of your finger, the unit will automatically power down,

Normal blood oxygen levels in humans are considered 95–100 percent. If the level is below 90 percent, it is considered low resulting in hypoxemia.[1] Blood oxygen levels below 80 percent may compromise organ function, such as the brain and heart, and should be promptly addressed. Continued low oxygen levels may lead to respiratory or cardiac arrest.
