The NextBase 322GW Dashcam is a serious bit of kit with some amazing features!

The first thing I have to mention is the mount, the mount is wired into your vehicle and so removing the dashcam to download footage is easy. It is a magnetic attachment very strong) between the mount and the dashcam and you can attach the mount either with the 3m pad or suction pad, both included.

For me the 3m pad is the best way, I have had countless dashcams, satnavs and phone holders fall off the screen when attached via suction. A change in temperature and plop, its off!

The 322GW has a touch screen and I like that feature, it means setting up the camera is easy and there are a whole host of settings on this dashcam.

Not only will it show date and time, but also your vehicles registration number and when connected to the My NextBase Player software, it shows a map with the segment of journey for that recording that can be set to 1, 2 or 3 minutes, grid reference, direction, speed (current, average and maximum) and the G Forces during that journey and that gives you an idea of acceleration, braking and cornering speeds.

I would say that as well as help you out in the event of an accident, if you are speeding, it will go against you but I think this could encourage people to improve their driving.

The Dashcam also connects via Bluetooth to your phone via the app, this has your vehicles Registration Number, colour and make and also your name, age, address and any medical info.

It holds this info for the SOS feature and you get a One Year free trial and what this does is that in the event of an accident, if you are unable to call for help it will alert the emergency services for you with the location and all the details you entered. You can override this via the touchscreen if you don’t need the SOS function to notify the emergency services.

After the free years trial it will cost £2.99 per month.

How’s that for peace of mind!

1080P AT 60FPS/720P AT 60FPS HD RECORDING AND 140° WIDE VIEWING ANGLE – The 322GW has been designed to provide high quality, detailed images of your journey on the road with the 1080p/30fps and 720p/60fps F1.6 lens. The 140° wide viewing angle ensures that a wide coverage of the road ahead will be recorded for fantastic footage.

WIDE 2.5″ HIGH RESOLUTION TOUCH SCREEN – View all your footage on the 2.5″ award-winning IPS screen with upgraded picture resolution and clarity for high quality recordings. The new added touch screen feature allows you to easily select menu options and playback footage for a great user experience.

QUICKLINK WI-FI AND BLUETOOTH – The 322GW is the world’s first Dash Cam with Bluetooth 4.2 and Quick-Link Wi-Fi to automatically sync files straight to your phone so footage can be supplied quickly to your insurer. You can also easily edit and share your footage via the MyNextbase Connect app.

GPS MODULE, G-SENSOR AND SOS EMERGENCY RESPONSE – The 322GW provides ultimate protection on the road. Track where an accident happened, safeguard your footage upon impact and allow the dash cam to automatically alert emergency services of your location and for help in the case of an accident.

POLARISING FILTER AND MODULE CAM COMPATIBLE – The 322GW has compatible ports for plugging in additional camera modules for improved performance, including rear view, rear window and cabin view additional camera module options to record the road behind as well as ahead.

The only issue I encountered was down to the Cabin Camera module. Our car is a 2014 Ford Galaxy and placing the camera providing all round cabin view whilst providing good coverage for front camera whilst not obscuring view for driver and providing good coverage on the Cabin module due to rear view mirror.

The NextBase 322GW costs £94.95 from Amazon with free same day delivery with Prime.

The add on module cameras cost £44.95 from Amazon

The Hard Wire kit costs £13.95 from Amazon

The dashcam has been in use in the car for a few weeks now and it continues to perform well. The mount is secured using the 3M pad and it has stayed put and the magnetic attachment that secures the dashcam to the mount is solid.

Most of all the sense of security that you get from having a dashcam is what I love the best. I know that when my wife is out and about her journey is being recorded not only out of the windscreen but also inside the car and so if anything happens it will be captured.

Also knowing that the SOS feature is there ready to automatically call for help if a crash happened gives great peace of mind.
