I have to admit that when I first saw the Mr Bear Family Beard Shaper, I did wonder if it was one of those gimmicks, you know the sort, they are usually a Facebook sponsored post.

I was wrong!

So what is a beard shaper?

This is what Mr Bear Family say about it;

The Beard Shaper is combined styling and beard moisturizer in one, made from natural ingredients such as Jojoba oil, Argan Oil, Shea butter and Witch hazel. It helps to create a natural hold that helps to maintain the shape of the beard all throughout the day without weighing it down. Perfect for the everyday styling of your beard. Relieves redness, irritation, and dry skin and gives the beard a more fuller and richer touch.

The 50ml alloy tin has a pump dispenser and the contents are creamy smooth and bit like a thicker moisturiser.

A couple of pumps of the product into my hand are then worked into my beard which I have just oiled using the Woodland Beard Brew and the results are very good.

I am a fan of balms and butters because my beard is messy, well it has a tendency to be messy and so using these products I can at least get my beard looking as good as it gets!

The Mr Bear Family Beard Shaper gives my beard a slight hold and keeps it looking, well it has looked very tidy and so this is far from a gimmick product, it works and works well.

I have the Beard Shaper in the Woodland scent which is a blend of;

  • West Indian Sandalwood
  • Rosemary Leaf Oil
  • Lavender Oil
  • Rosewood Essential Oil
  • Cedarwood Essential Oil
  • Pine Essential Oil
  • Sandalwood Essential Oil

As I said with the balm and oil reviews, I am not a Woody scent fan but this is a very nice blend that I actually quite like.

The beard Shaper itself is a very complex blend.

Water, Aloe Vera, Beeswax, Sodium Polyitaconate, Safflower Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Lanolin Wax, Jojoba Seed oil, Witch Hazel Water, Sorbitan Oleate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Benzyl Alcohol, Alcohol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Behenyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Linalool, Tocopherol, Benzoic Acid, Sunflower seed oil, Dehydroacetic Acid, Limonene, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate, Lactic Acid

Would I buy it?

I am not sure? It is a great product and great for those who only use an oil but want to style their beard and have some hold or for people who don’t use an oil and want a simple stand-alone product!
