I used to think of smart tech like this plug as luxuries that really weren’t necessary but fun to have, but they have now become an important part of today’s homes!

We have an Echo Dot and a few connected light bulbs, it serves a purpose as it means that I can operate them without having to get into my wheelchair.

Granite water feature

We have a water feature in the garden and I had it plugged into a very old timer that was used for the lights on my aquarium and it was well over 10 years old.

It did the job but the plug is tucked away behind a corner unit and so if it was very windy or very wet, to turn it off meant reaching in and turning the plug off. This meant that I would then have to unplug it to reset the timer to the correct time!

So I decided that a smart plug would be the perfect solution, but I was unsure if it would be too pricey.

However there are a wide range of smart plugs that are available for a very reasonable price and I opted for the smart plug from Foluu Technology that cost £11.39 and had free same delivery on Prime.

Smart Life App

It is easy to set up using the Smart Life app and can be switched on and off via the app or like I have you can set a schedule.

The plug also works with the Amazon Echo Dot and so “Alexa Water Feature On/Off” will also power on or off the plug!

I can’t believe that for just £11.39 you can have home tech like this plug and this kind of device is also game changing for people with a disability.

So if you are looking for a Smart Plug, this one will certainly do what you require.

If I could change one thing about the plug it would be to have it operate like the Philips Hue lights/app. With that you can set the device to switch on or off at Dusk/Dawn and we have that set up on a few of our lights.

This can now be done via the Amazon Alexa app and devices!

There are a wide range of Wifi plugs available on Amazon and they are priced well.
