You stroll through the department store and see a bottle of your favourite perfume/cologne but you keep walking past because the prices are ridiculously expensive!

My wife loves Chanel No 5 but there is little hope of her being able to treat herself to a bottle because of the price and so she has to make do with something else or does she?

We were contacted by @Wallys_Fragrances on Instagram about reviewing for them, they sell Parfum via www.similarfragrancesandbeauty.shop and my wife’s reply was “do it!“.

And you guessed it, she asked for their FM 21 Parfum that is inspired by Chanel No 5!

We also received a 15ml bottle of their Utique collection Ambergris, samples of the Utique range and samples of

  • 173 sample (inspired by Dior Hypnotic Poison)
  • 900 sample (inspired by Tom Ford Lost Cherry)
  • 827 sample (inspired by Marc Jacobs Daisy)
  • 335 sample (inspired by Tom Ford Oud Wood)

I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting much, surely these exquisite scents cannot be replicated and for a fraction of the price?

Guess who was wrong?

Federico Mahora 21 from Wallys Fragrances

No sooner had I opened the parcel, my wife had the FM 21 (No 5) out of its box and was spraying some on her wrists!

She said that as she sprayed the FM 21 on, she got the scent of No 5 and then after a while she wasn’t sure that it was like it, however during the day she kept getting wafts of scent that was without a doubt very, very similar to No 5 and costs it £14.90 for 50ml.

Now I thought that it would be the FM 21 that she would rave about but when we tried some of the samples, she applied the FM 900 (similar to Tom Ford Lost Cherry) and she loves it. This is a Parfum we hadn’t heard of but wow what a scent and so we took to Google to look it up and no wonder, 50ml of the original will cost around the £200 mark the 50ml similar scent from this company is £23.50.

£200 what the …….?

So if these Parfum scents cost so much, how can this company sell them for these prices?

Well the perfume houses use expensive bottles and packaging, TV, magazine and Billboard advertising as well as many having Celebrity endorsements and then of course they are sold on the high Street and so that pushes the price up.

Mahora Fragrances from Wallys Fragrances is sold online, the bottles and packaging are kept simple but still look good.

However you actually get a better product, this is because the Mahora Fragrances contain 20% to 30% oils and so the scents last a hell of a lot longer on you.

My wife also loved the FM 827 sample (similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy).

Federico Mahora Fragrances Utique Ambergris

We were also sent the 15ml Ambergris parfum from their Utique range and I have to say that I have fallen in love with this scent!
Now Ambergris itself doesn’t sound very nice. It is a solid, waxy, flammable substance of a dull grey or blackish colour produced in the digestive system of sperm whales. YUCK!

However it is a very expensive, find some on the beach and you are quids in and I can see why.

The Utique range is made up of 11 products.

  • Utique Amber Royale
  • Utique Black
  • Utique Gold
  • Utique Violet Oud
  • Utique Ruby
  • Utique Sexy Cashmere
  • Utique Muffin
  • Utique Bubble
  • Utique Flamingo
  • Utique Ambergris

Now for me, many had scents that were very same-ish, but then I don’t claim to be a scent boffin. My wife loved the Muffin and Ruby and I thought that some of them were very nice!

So we have been very impressed with the Federico Mahora Fragrances from Wallys Fragrances and recommend them. Why pay out all that money for a flashy bottle and cardboard box when you can have the same scent cheaper?
