Scottish brand Endurance Beard Company sent me their ‘The Beard Box’ for review.

The box contains a 10ml beard oil in a card box, a 60ml balm and a 100g beard soap.

At time of review there is a choice of only one balm The Hoosh and two oil scents, The Irish Giant and The Boss and I chose The Irish Giant.

I like the look of the plain brown Beard Box that is tied with string and also has a wax seal and stamped company name.

It is also packaged with natural packing to hold the contents in place and no sign of any plastic, which is a big plus!

The oil is in a brown card box, the tinned balm is in a cloth bag and the soap is wrapped in paper and tied with string and there are three brown business sized cards, one is a business card and the other two have the ingredients for the Balm and Soap.

The 60ml The Hoosh beard balm or as it says on the tin Double Butter Beard Balm is firm, well that may be an understatement, it is solid.

The base for this balm is a blend of;

  • Shea Butter
  • Mango Butter
  • Beeswax
  • Castor oil
  • Rice Bran oil
  • Vitamin E

I had to use the end of my metal comb to scrape some out and then it takes quite a lot longer working it in your hands before it is ready to apply.

However I am a big fan of firm balms, the extra effort to scrape and work the balm is rewarded with a good hold and that is what I like, it keeps your beard looking good for longer!

The scent is a blend of;

  • Scots Pine
  • Patchouli
  • Cedarwood
  • Rosemary
  • Grapefruit

Woodsy with that earthy floral and it is very nicely done, I really like this scent!

It costs £14.95 if purchased individually.

The Irish Giant is a 10ml glass bottle with a glass dropper and costs £11.95 if purchased individually.

It is a blend of;

  • Organic Jojoba oil
  • Organic Sweet Almond oil
  • Vitamin E

It is a nice oil but I wouldn’t rave over it and I think that this is the weak link in this beard kit. At only 10ml it is pricey and that is likely down to the Organic oils used, but I would expect to see a 30ml oil in the kit at this price.

The scent is a blend of;

  • Absolute Tobacco extract
  • Absolute Vanilla extract
  • Black Pepper
  • Frankincense
  • Grapefruit

It is a very nice scent, I really like the Tobacco scents and this blend is very nice but it is a bit too muted, it doesn’t pop!

The 100g The Woodsy One Beard Shampoo Bar for me is the star of the show and costs £10.50 if purchased individually.

It is a blend of;

  • Olive oil
  • Water
  • Coconut oil
  • Sodium hydroxide (lye)
  • Macadamia nut oil
  • Rice bran oil
  • Mango seed butter
  • Sweet Almond oil
  • Castor oil
  • Sunflower oil

And even in the hard tap water we have here it lathered up beautifully!

This is a really firm bar of soap and looks like it will last a while and I have been very happy with the results when using this soap that has a Cedarwood, Rosemary & Pine scent.

So I have been very happy with the balm and the soap, the oil is an okay oil but as I said it is pricey!
