The Sugar Beard Bubblegum Beard Balm like all of the Sugar Beard balms is emblazoned with more colours than an 80’s aerobics instructor!
The balm is a medium firm consistency and even in these recent temperatures of 29ºc plus, it has still been firm in the tin. It takes a bit more working in your hand than the average balm and also takes a bit more time to work it through your beard hair.
The reward for this is a great hold that keeps even my scruffy beard looking tidy and it also leaves it a bit softer.
It is made from Beeswax, Mango Butter, Sesame Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides (mix of coconut oil and glycerin), Argan Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vit E, Sunflower Seed Oil, Ginger root extract and Cocoa Butter.
To this fragrance oil is added to get the bubblegum scent and this is where I noticed something a bit strange. I opened the tin and had a smell and the scent was spot on and reminded of the bubblegum I used to buy back in the 1970’s and yes I am that old!
But yesterday I was warming it in my hand and for a brief moment I got a very different scent, it was I am afraid to say the scent of sick, yes vomit!
I thought it was just me having a weird moment until this morning, my wife had also agreed the scent was spot on for bubblegum but as I applied it today, I heard “eeewwww what are you using?” and she also said she called smell sick!
