The Robin Hood Beard Co Outlaw Beard Oil had me intrigued as soon as I first smelt it, it is so very different and recognisable and yet I could not think what the scent was. I always use the products first and then read up on what they contain so that I am no influenced by what I read.

The scent has a sweet gentleness to it and yet it has a slight punch to it that comes in after and that is the scent of Cognac, yes Cognac!

The scent is actually a blend of Patchouli, Pure Himalayan Cedarwood & Black Pepper essential oils with Bay Rum, Cognac & Cuban Cigar fragrance oils and it has so many layers to that you have to just keep on smelling it. Initially I thought there was cherry in the blend but that really only lasted a split second.

You then start to get all those different scents coming in and it is really rather good. Many people would have been tempted to make the Cognac and Cuban Cigar stronger but David has resisted and kept it all very subtle and yet it is also a rich scent. For me Bay Rum is normally a no as is the Cedarwood and the Cigar, but because it has been blended so well, I can’t find fault with the scent at all except that my personal preference is all natural.

The base for this almost indescribable scent is Organic Safflower Oil, Coconut Oil & Natural Vitamin E Oil, it is a fairly thin and pale oil that was very quickly absorbed into my beard hair and left it feeling softer.
