The Braw The Arctic Explorer 1813 Beard Oil is without a doubt an amazing product, so much so that it gets top marks and therefore the ‘Superior Product Golden Beard Award’
Of course it is all very well having an amazing oil, but you also need to couple that with amazing branding and Braw have delivered in both areas. The bottle of Braw beard oil looks stunning, the branding is stylish and the label just looks like it is top quality.
I have said many times before that I prefer a heavier beard oil and that is exactly what we have here in the Braw The Arctic Explorer 1813 Beard Oil, a base of Hemp seed, Jojoba seed, Argan & Vit E that feels so good in my beard, my beard is softer, the thicker consistency helps to give it some hold and I actually can’t fault this oil in any way, well obviously as it has earnt the Golden Beard Award.
The scent of The Arctic Explorer 1813 is made up from a blend of Ylang Ylang, Peppermint & Cypress essential oils. Fresh, slightly earthy and a touch of floral that I couldn’t get enough of and that scent lasts and I was catching a slight waft every now and then.
Without a doubt the beard care market is saturated and more brands pop up every week, but very few actually achieve the standards that Braw has achieved. Yes I have only tried one oil but if their beard butters and tash wax are of the same standard, well then I fully understand why Braw are a firm favourite among many of you.

The Braw Story
Braw Beard Was Born In 2012 After Breaking My Back
Braw Beard Oils founder John has trained and competed in many sports since age 10, many of which are reflected in our choice of Braw Athletes. With a love for rock music, he naturally started embracing facial hair as soon as it grew around age 16, going through variations of sideburns and beards.
The longer beard became messy and dry after training and days on the mountain bike, this was just accepted.
After breaking his back and separating his shoulders (AC Joint) in 2011 in a mountain bike crash, John spent a long time recovering with the help of Dr White in Musselburgh. After recovery, Dr White offered to train John in his TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), which he accepted.
Whilst studying and practicing, John started to experiment with base and essential oils for sports & tui na massage, then used his knowledge to tailor them as a conditioner for his beard, like hair oil. The main focus being keeping it healthy looking after sports and outdoor activity.
Time In The BrawLab
After months of testing, going through trial and error to get good results, John found the perfect recipe.
He created a game changer, an all natural product designed to maintain the health of your majestic facial hair. In late 2012, Braw Beard Oils was born. Since then it has been an amazing journey, constantly learning, coming up with new products and ideas, creating new friendships and meeting inspirational people.
Handmade in Scotland, we use the finest natural ingredients to maintain the health, length and strength of your facial hair. Take pride in it, it grows for a reason, Braw Beard Oils are for the wild man, the working man, the gentleman, whatever stage you may be at, from stubble to skiffin’ rubble.

All of our beard oils are safety tested and certified, so you can be sure you are treating your facial hair to some mighty fine ingredients. We test on willing bearded humans, not animals.
We wanted to share this story because we worked hard to make Braw Beard Oils what it is, we started before the ‘beard trend’ and are in it for the love of Beard.
