I have been using Merry Band Beard Oil ‘Bay Rum’ Beard Oil for the past three days and I had honestly forgotten how soft the oils that Tom produces make my beard feel.

West Indies Bay
West Indies Bay

Now if you have read my reviews before, you will know that the Bay Rum, the piratesque oils are my least favourite. This is because some add Clove but also the West Indies Bay used also has a clove scent. As I have said before the scent just reminds me of having a toothache when I was a kid and being told by my dad to put clove oil on the area!!!

However there have been a couple of ‘Bay Rum’ oils and balms that I have been okay with.

Merry Band Beard Oil ‘Bay Rum’ Beard Oil gets its scent from a blend of Lime, Ginger, Amyris, Cinnamon & West Indies Bay essential oils.  It joins those ‘Bay Rum’ oils that I have been okay with, this is down to the oils it has been blended with but it is also down to Tom’s skill at blending these oils.

The Scent is warm and fresh with a light spicyness and, yep  I am going to say its very nice.

This is on a base of Grapeseed Oil, Moroccan Argan Oil, Jojoba & Vitamin E Oil carrier oils and as I said it left my beard feeling very soft and that is some feat. A little goes a long way and it doesn’t leave your beard feeling greasy and it is important to make sure that you work the oil right in and also down onto the skin under your beard as it will help to prevent dry skin and that itchy feeling that causes many guys to shave in the early stages of growing a beard.
