Well first off before the Review of Balbo Beard Co Beard Soap lets put one of these here.

Superior Product

I like soap, it is something that I hadn’t used for years because shower gels and liquid soap took over our bathrooms. Since I have been reviewing beard care products, I have received quite a few soaps that are handmade and natural and I realised that I had missed using a bar of soap.

Magpie Hill Soap

Balbo Beard Co have now added this soap to their beard care range, it was always going to be a winner because Rhian who owns Balbo beard Co, also owns Magpie Hill Soap and so she knows what she is doing!

I was sent two Beard soaps, A Sandalwood scented bar and an Unscented bar and I used the Sandalwood soap first. I have mentioned before about the hard Essex water and how soap doesn’t lather as well in it and so I was very surprised when I used the soap in the same way I did with other soaps. I was suddenly sat there with a beard that was literally full of a rich creamy lather, ‘note to self’ the soap doesn’t need to be applied as much as the others, it’s incredible.

In fact I think that when I am having a good day, I will get a video of me using the soap on my beard because it really is an amazing lather from this soap. So I had to spend a bit of time trying to rinse it out of my beard, lesson learnt!

The soap is 100% natural, made from Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Spring Water, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Glycerine, Bentonite Clay and in the Sandalwood scented bar, Sandalwood Essential oil and Turmeric powder (to colour) is added.

The Balbo Beard Co Beard Soap left my beard clean, I had an extra strong hold tash wax in and it had no problem lifting that out. My beard was left feeling soft and I highly recommend this Beard Soap. It is so important to use a dedicated beard soap or shampoo, normal shampoos and shower gels will strip your beard of all its oils and leave it dry.

You can purchase the Sandalwood and the Unscented Balbo Beard Co Soaps from their website and they are great value at £5.99 0r they can be purchased along with a wooden dish for £8.99. A soap will last a long time if you store it correctly,  it should be stored in a cool dark place and be allowed to dry out in between use.
