As you creep past the age of 50, nose hair becomes more of an out of control weed problem than stray hairs, and so I got the Nad’s for Men Nose Wax Kit.

As soon as my wife and daughter’s saw it, they laughed and said I would be whimpering and left stuck with them up my nose, my youngest daughter said “yea and then he will say No seriously Donna” and they found it hilarious.

I was determined to prove them wrong and as the Nads for Men Nose Waxing Kit is designed for this use, I was confident!

In the 30g box kit that is available in the UK from Boots, you get the pot of wax, three wooden lolly sticks to stir the wax, six of the SafeTip™ applicators, three soothing wipes, four moustache stickers and of course the instructions.

Now I was very confident that I would be okay because of the SafeTip™ applicators, they are designed so that they fit just inside the nose to remove only the long, visible hairs, leaving the important hair deep inside the nose undisturbed.

I decided that the best way to review this product would be to do a review/demonstration, and so I set up and pressed record!

It says to place the pot of wax in the microwave and to the edge (not in the middle) for 1 minute and then let it stand for one minute.

I did this, but the wax was still very firm, and so I returned it to the microwave for a further 1 minute and 20 seconds. The wax was softer but not ready to use and so I gave it a further minute.

Now, I know that this is not down to our microwave. I know this because our old microwave was shot and so we have a new 900w Sharp Microwave and so it is okay.

I took one of the moustache stickers that are provided so that if, like me, you have facial hair or stubble, that you are not going to drip wax onto your tash and end up waxing that.

I applied wax to one of the SafeTip™ applicators and inserted it into my nostril and held it there until the wax had firmed, and then used another applicator and repeated the process for the other nostril.

I would like to at this point pause the review and tell my family to leave me alone, it is not funny!

Yes, as predicted, I was not very brave and ended in a mix of squealing and laughter.

They work and they do the job well. Yes it does take longer to melt the wax, but it is still quick if you know that in advance.

You get enough applicators to do three lots of nostril waxing, but if it is just you using it and not shared, you can break the dry wax off and use again as the amount of wax supplied would do a lot more than three.

I am not sure if I will use it again, I may just have to get over the initial shock and I might decide to, but time will tell.

At the end of the day, it is not going to be pain free. You are pulling the hairs out of your nostril all in one go, and the nostril is a very sensitive area. If you have ever had a small spot on the edge of your nostril, you will know it feels so much worse and bigger than it looks.

I would rather the sting I get from my bees during an inspection than this!

Priced at £8.99 from Boots.com in the UK it is very well priced and it gets the job done better than the nose trimmers.
