My nerve pain is taking a rather sinister turn, it used to be just pain, shooting pains and general stabbing pains but now things have changed.
I am getting very real feelings of different pain, it started with a feeling like someone was pushing needles through my toes.
I can be just sat there watching TV (what a surprise) and I suddenly feel like a needle is being pushed through a toe, it even changes feeling like different sized needles. then I started getting a sensation of my toes being cut, it feels like a very sharp blade, that stingy feeling of a sharp cut.
Then I felt something like a spike being pushed through my thigh, a horrible feeling that I can clearly do nothing about and now the needles pain is also in my legs, so why is this happening?
The consultant at pain Management says I have something called Pain Wind Up (I know, I thought the same thing lol). Basically instead of become more used to pain, the opposite happens. A small bump that is normally just that can send our pain through the roof. Then there is pain caused by something that shouldn’t cause pain, massage or touch. However this doesn’t explain this latest bout of pain and sensations.
I guess the logical thing to do would be see my GP (family doctor) or make an appointment to see the pain clinic team. However being a chronic pain sufferer means we don’t do what is logical, we don’t go running to the doctor for every new problem, we get sick of going to the hospital and so we just accept it and try to keep going.
So for now I will just put up with the feeling of having a psychopath attacking my lower half, I guess that eventually I will tell a doctor, but I doubt there will be anything they can do!
