I have been sent a Crystal Gaze lightweight face shield from Disability Horizons!

I posted a blog post a little while ago about why I won’t wear a facemask and I have been out without one.

I get a lot of looks, judging looks and I refuse to keep explaining why I can’t wear one and yet I do have that sense of guilt for not wearing one.

The option is to wear a face shield and my wife did buy us face shields but they are a piece of foam with elastic to go around your head and that piece of foam makes you sweat and I then get a reaction on my forehead.

Wow I am hard work!

So the Crystal Gaze lightweight face shield from Disability Horizons is the perfect solution.

It weighs only 28g and the visor sits on a glasses rim type set up with the arms, the top piece and the nose piece and they are very comfortable.

The benefits are not only being lightweight but it isn’t stifling like a facemask and you can then use a straw to drink as Martyn Sibley showed on Instagram without removing your face covering or even put a sweet or meds into your mouth.

It also looks better, I struggle with every one walking round with half of their face concealed. We have evolved to read facial expressions and so it is unsettling not being able to and it must be very difficult for people who are hearing impaired as they won’t be able to lip read.

The Crystal Gaze lightweight face shield comes with the glasses style holder and one face shield for £8.95 or with 3 visors for £11.95 from the Disability Horizons Shop.

Extra face shields are available for £2

The face shields can be easily cleaned using a microfibre cloth and high-proof isopropanol/isopropyl alcohol disinfectant, making them reusable and that has to be a massive plus, I am so sick of seeing discarded face masks everywhere!

Go and check out the Disability Horizons Shop, they sell a wide range of products from Bathroom aids to Adaptive clothing.
