Today I had an appointment at Colchester Hospital orthopaedic outpatients, I have had no luck with help from Southend Hospital and so I asked for a referral to Colchester. However it was A wasted journey!

The consultant at Southend has refused to take my requests for an amputation seriously, this is the link as to why I have requested this.

Anyway back to today, we arrived late as the traffic was bad and the journey had sent my pain levels soaring, we sat and waited to be seen and luckily they were running late.

However when I was called in the doctor told me that I was in the wrong clinic. The consultant had written on the paperwork that he wanted to see me in his teaching clinic, that way I will have a longer appointment to tell him the issues and also there will be several doctors to discuss my case. Also the consultant wasn’t even there today.

I was so frustrated that I had been in extra pain to get there and now had to travel back home without seeing the consultant. Its hard to believe that these simple mistakes happen when it comes to patients care and appointments.

However even though it was a wasted journey, I now know that when I am seen in September, it will be a worthwhile journey!
