Bearded, disabled blogger, having a moan and reviewing products!

So many cock up by the NHS lately!

NHS

I am literally gobsmacked at the events involving the NHS and me lately!

Now I do first want to say that I have seen some amazing consultants and had great service but then something goes wrong.

You know my current situation because of my knee, if not read it here.

So today was almost scripted by a Carry On film writer and started when a couple of weeks ago I was told that to get to see the Orthopaedic consultant again, I would need a telephone assessment.

I was called by someone and given today (2 May 19) and 10am as the time for my assessment over the phone.

So I sat here, as usual and waited. I had a review to film and so decided to wait until after the call.

An hour and a half later and still no call and so I phoned Southend Hospital and explained and was put through to the department that deals with these assessments and was told “no you ring us!”.

She went on to insist I had a letter telling me this which I haven’t and due to depression, suicidal thoughts over my situation and the consultants not helping, I did lose it slightly.

So I said I am upset because, and explained about my knee, my situation and my depression and thoughts because of it and was given an appointment to see a consultant next month.

Sorted?………. Not quite!

This week I recieved a call from Southend Hospital saying I needed a CT scan and could I come in the next day. I said I couldn’t because our daughter is being induced on the maternity ward and so we have the grandkids and my wife drives as I am disabled and so an appointment was made for the 17th of this Month.

Today I get three letters from Southend Hospital.

One is the Cardiac consultant explaining I have abnormal ECG’s and this has been seen over a long period of time and it is a Right Bundle Branch Block with T-Wave Inversions in V1 to V3 and V4 and V5 and so I have been booked in to have a diagnostic CT coronary aangiogram.

Fair enough!

However my heart rate needs to be at 60 beats per minute and so I need to make an appointment with the GP to get medication to slow my heart rate.

Okay!

But how could I have done that if I had accepted the next day appointment?

So I phone my GP Surgery and explain what the letter says and ask to see a doctor and they tell me that there are no appointments this month!

But, if I go online and use the online booking form I may get in.

How does that work, why can I do that there but the receptionist can’t?

Anyway I do this and guess what?

Yep no appointments!

You honestly could not make this shit up!
