I have had this laptop for quite a while now and yet it was only a couple of weeks ago when I needed to plug in an ethernet lead, that I noticed there was no ethernet port on the laptop!
So like most people I headed to Amazon in search of a USB to Ethernet or RJ45 as it’s known LAN network Adapter.
Luckily I found that they weren’t too expensive and the TechRise adapter was very well priced at £6.99 with free next day delivery on Prime.
I had read the reviews and many people said that it was a simple plug and play adapter, I am running Windows 10 and I expected it to be very easy.
However despite people saying they had success on Windows 10 with just plug and play, I couldn’t get it to work by just plugging in and allowing the system to detect it.
As my new laptop also doesn’t have a disc drive, I had to boot up our ancient old beast and copy the files to a USB stck and then run from there on the new laptop and bingo!
Whilst it isn’t essential to have an ethernet connection nowdays, sometimes some tasks call for a direct wired connection and this little adapter is doing the job perfectly.
I highly recommend it and at £6.99 with free delivery it won’t break the bank!
