I have been sent the Opies Beard Co Happy Beard Oil for review .
Opies Beard Co like many brands started with the owner making his own oils and friends loving them so much that it soon turned into a brand.
The Happy Beard Oil has a simple base blend of Sweet Almond Oil & Tocopherol. Sweet Almond oil is found in the majority of beard oils as it is great in softening hair and skin but its main benefit is on the skin and is great for those who suffer from dry skin. Tocopherol is a form of natural Vitamin E and helps to soften hair but also can increase blood flow to the area it is applied and so this could result in better hair growth.
Unfortunately I found this blend to be lacking, initially upon applying it seemed okay but I found that a couple of hours later my beard felt dry and almost straw like. This is in my opinion because it is a very basic blend and the addition of even one more well chosen carrier oil could make a massive difference!
The Happy scent is a blend of Sandalwood, Lavender, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Bergamot and again owner and creator Jamie has created a lovely scent blend.
The first scent that you get is the Lemongrass with a soft citrus scent that has a powdery likeness and then you get some warmth and finally right at the back and very subtle are the floral notes. It has been blened so well!
The Opies Beard Co Happy beard oil is available in 10ml – £6.99 and 50ml – £12.99 from the website.
