Mariner Jack has never looked better, yes I said looked. Branding is so important and the rebrand of Mariner Jack is, well bloody amazing!

Yes it looks like a brand that is at the forefront, a brand that is mature and would look at home on the shelves of a London department store.

But of course good branding is no good if the contents of the bottles, jars or tins doesn’t meet the same quality, but with Mariner Jack that is not an issue, in fact the contents are just as smooth as the branding.

The Libertalia beard oil has a base of Sandalwood, Patchouli & Leather and these are fragrance oils.

Yes I know, I have stated in the past that I prefer essential oils and yes I do, but that has been because in the past I have used products that contain fragrance oils and they have been based in what must be alcohol, you could smell this through the scent and it put me off.

However like everything else, there are varying qualities and the Mariner Jack scent blend does not even have a hint of that and so I am guessing the FO are diluted in oil?

Anyway, enough waffle!

The scent is warm, it is slightly resinous and subtle, yes unlike like many fragrances made from FO, it won’t jump out at you.

The benefit of using a FO over an EO is not only accessing scents that are not available from nature, but the scent also lasts longer on the beard.

The base

The base of the Mariner Jack Libertalia beard oil is a 3 oil blend of Argan Oil, Sweet Almond Oil & Jojoba Seed Oil.

The result is a soft beard that is so soft that I can’t stop stroking it and of course don’t forget the benefits to the skin and hair follicles.
