The Braw Beard Wash is just what you should be using on your beard, put down your wifes shampoo because it really isn’t good for your beard!

Again I have to mention the Braw branding, the product looks and feels top quality, the label is clean, sleek and just damn good-looking. Branding is so important and so hard to get right, in fact I think it may be just as hard to get right as the products themselves and Braw have got it right and some!

The Braw beard wash is unscented and made from organic ingredients, being organic means that it will not produce as much lather, couple that with the hard old Essex tap water and the wash struggled to produce lather. Lather helps to spread shampoo through your beard, but it doesn’t help with cleaning your beard, in fact you will often notice that you get more lather on a second wash once the beard is clean!

I wet my beard and pumped some of the unscented Braw beard wash into my hands and worked it into my beard and yes that lack of lather does mean you may use more or have to work it through your beard more. However without a mass of lather it is easier to rinse out, now that is not an issue in the shower but over the sink it is a benefit.

The Braw beard wash did exactly what it was meant to do, it left my beard clean, got the tash wax and the remnants of food that had been left in there and my beard felt clean and I was very happy with the result.

The Braw Story

Braw Beard Was Born In 2012 After Breaking My Back

Braw Beard Oils founder John has trained and competed in many sports since age 10, many of which are reflected in our choice of Braw Athletes. With a love for rock music, he naturally started embracing facial hair as soon as it grew around age 16, going through variations of sideburns and beards.

The longer beard became messy and dry after training and days on the mountain bike, this was just accepted.

The Incident

After breaking his back and separating his shoulders (AC Joint) in 2011 in a mountain bike crash, John spent a long time recovering with the help of Dr White in Musselburgh. After recovery, Dr White offered to train John in his TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), which he accepted.

Whilst studying and practicing, John started to experiment with base and essential oils for sports & tui na massage, then used his knowledge to tailor them as a conditioner for his beard, like hair oil. The main focus being keeping it healthy looking after sports and outdoor activity.

Time In The BrawLab

After months of testing, going through trial and error to get good results, John found the perfect recipe.

He created a game changer, an all natural product designed to maintain the health of your majestic facial hair. In late 2012, Braw Beard Oils was born. Since then it has been an amazing journey, constantly learning, coming up with new products and ideas, creating new friendships and meeting inspirational people.

Handmade in Scotland, we use the finest natural ingredients to maintain the health, length and strength of your facial hair. Take pride in it, it grows for a reason, Braw Beard Oils are for the wild man, the working man, the gentleman, whatever stage you may be at, from stubble to skiffin’ rubble.
