Having tested some of the Merry Band beard oils before, I knew to expect an oil that would leave my beard feeling soft and looking good, this was really a case of assessing the ‘Rustic Charm’ scent.
The base is a blend of Grapeseed, Argan, Jojoba and Vitamin E carrier oils, the result is a light and golden oil that is quickly absorbed into the beard hair and doesn’t leave it feeling or looking oily. My beard also felt good and I was pleased with the results. Of course the oils are just important to the skin under your beard as it is for the beard itself, it helps to keep it moisturised and helps to prevent itch and dry skin and if the skin and follicles are kept in good condition, this will help to promote stronger growth.
The scent is a blend of Tobacco, Neroli, Scots Pine, Grapefruit and Amayris, this has produced a very slightly woodsy scent that has a fresh and sweet layer that works very well. The Tobacco is very gentle and I really like it in this oil, I don’t dislike Tobacco but I am not massively fond of it in beard care but it works well with this blend. To be honest, the scent is actually very complex and difficult to nail down with words, I have spent a lot of time trying to do this but I can’t fully describe it.
