After testing their ‘Citrus Burst‘ Beard Oil, I moved on to the Bear Head ‘Peppermint Cream’ Beard Balm.
Grant Taylor was fed up with the products he had been using on his beard, mass-produced and full of ingredients despite what the labels say, aren’t good for your beard. So he set about making his own and the result is Bear Head Grooming Products.
He certainly hit a home run with the beard oil and so it was time to see if he had the magic touch with making beard balm.
Grant decided that his first beard balm would have the ‘Peppermint Cream’ scent just like one of his beard oils.
The scent is made up from Peppermint, Tea Tree and Bergamot essential oils, the Peppermint scent is boosted in freshness by the Tea Tree. Sitting right at the back is a slight citrus scent of the Bergamot. It is very much like the extra strong mints or the well-known shower gel that leaves your bumhole feeling like someone is blowing on it all day!
The base for this a 100% natural blend of Shea butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Almond Oil and Hemp Seed oil. This blend and the ratios used has created a medium to firm balm, but it is still easy to scoop from the tin.
It’s no secret that I favour a balm and that is because of the hold it gives. Bear Head ‘Peppermint Cream’ Beard Balm gives a nice hold keeping the beard looking good but not too heavy and so the beard still feels natural and you can feel that the beard hair is softened by the balm.
The 50ml balm is available from the Bear Head Grooming website for £12.99 and I hope to see the balm become available in some more scents, it would be amazing with the ‘Citrus Burst’ scent.
Bear Head Grooming also sell a Tattoo Oil for £9.99
