Balbo Beard Co #5 Beard Oil is a beautifully balanced blend of Patchouli, Sure Sicilian Bergamot and Sandalwood.
Patchouli gets a hard time, people call it the Hippie oil because it was often worn by them in the 60’s and people turn their noses up at the scent. However like most essential oils it all depends on what its blended with and how well it’s blended. Patchouli is a rich earthy and woody aroma and this works very well when blended with the rich and warm Sandalwood and the floral and citrus Bergamot.
This is sitting on a base of Grapeseed, Jojoba and Argan carrier oils that leaves the beard feeling soft and with a healthy sheen. The oil is quickly absorbed into the beard and the oils used will help to moisturise the beard and prevent split hairs and also help to prevent dry skin and spots and also keep the dreaded beard itch away.
My wife loves it when I say this “I was wrong” and indeed I was wrong, why?
Well some time ago I said this about choosing beard care products “Choose products that are made from natural ingredients, made in small batches and created by a bearded man”!
Balbo Beard Co is the creation of Rhian Gurney, so female and no beard and the oils she has created are very good indeed, in fact #3 Beard Oil which is a blend of Sandalwood and Sure Sicilian Bergamot was so good that I gave it the Gold Cup Award. So it’s clear that my sexist non bearded statement was wrong!
I have no problem in recommending Balbo Beard Co, the base blend is very good and so it’s just a case of picking the scent which appeals to you or using #7 which is unscented.
